Indoor Academy

The ultimate goal of Malton Soccer Academy is the ‘total soccer’ development of the youth soccer player. The process of creating a well-rounded player means creating a well rounded character, as well as a talented one.

MSC Academy Instructors strive to teach players the ultimate technical, tactical, physical, mental, and social skills required to be not only truly skilled players, but true ambassadors of the sport, the club, and the community of Malton.

While winning has its place and time, development is the only true path to winning and ultimate success. Soccer is a late specialization sport. Soccer training that is too strenuous and serious contributes to imbalanced physical development, overuse injuries, early burnout, and inadequate development of movement and sports skills.

The MSC Academy promotes a program that adheres to the seven stages of long-term player development.

The mission of the Academy is;

• All instructors are OSA Certified
• Biological specific training
• To challenge players physically and mentally
• To prepare players to meet their personal goals
• To instil critical thinking and good decision making
• To promote self-motivation
• To nurture the desire to play soccer
• To develop ambassadors for soccer
• To offer a professional, secure, age appropriate and safe learning environment

Academy players will learn new skills which will help them with the decision making process that they will face in a game situation. They will practice these skills in unopposed and opposed scenarios. Sessions will end with players putting what they have learned into practice using small sided games. This ensures that all players touch the ball, all players are involved in all elements of the game, and each individual player develops.

Thursday September 22, 2011 7:00pm till 8:30pm Lancaster Junior Public School

Saturday September 24, 2011 8am till Noon – Darcel Avenue Senior Public School

Monday September 26 2011 7:00pm till 8:30pm Morning Star Middle School

Cost per Player: $120.00   Academy will run from: November 2011 till April 2012
Ages:  4yrs to 16yrs       Time and days to be determined
